- Winner Selection: Winner will be selected by a panel of judges who are not affiliated with Thatch Winery or the sponsor vendors. Winner will be announced on May 28, 2019 via Facebook and Instagram. Winner will be contacted via email address provided in entry form.
- Contest Details: Contest will commence on April 25, 2019. Entries must be submitted by midnight EST on May 25, 2019. Wedding must take place on one of the following dates in 2020: Friday, May 22, 2020 | Friday, June 12, 2020 | Friday, July 10, 2020. Wedding date must be finalized within two weeks of being selected as the Winner. Failure to finalize date within two weeks of notification will result in a runner-up selected to receive prize. Wedding Guest Count must not exceed 100 attendees.
Thatch Winery reserves the right to amend this promotion due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to any significant weather event, war, fire, earthquake, strike, sickness, accident, civil commotion or any other such cause.
The prize is non-transferable to other dates, other events, other persons, or exchangeable for other goods and services and cannot be redeemed for cash. Winner may coordinate other services and/or products through additional licensed vendors of their choosing.
Thatch Winery owners and employees reserve the right in their sole determination to enforce any rules of behavior/conduct at their facility as they deem necessary in order to protect all guests, employees, and property from damage or liability.
- Publicity: The Winner agrees to participate in any promotional activities associated with the prize such as public appearances, photo opportunities or media interviews. The Winner agrees to allow Thatch Winery to use the Winner’s likeness and image for any purpose related to the prize as well as any promotional use in advertising, editorial and trade publications without further compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law.
- Prize Details and Restrictions:
- Venue provided by Thatch Winery for up to 100 guests to include use of indoor and outdoor space for ceremony and reception as well as chairs and tables. Mandatory wine minimum purchase for weddings will be waived for Giveaway Winner, however any red, white or rosé wine served at the wedding must be Thatch Wine.
- Event Management Services provided by Swoon Soiree. Swoon Soiree will coordinate event with all vendors. They will assist couple through rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. Swoon Soiree will help with set up and break down of the event. Services included are as follows:
- Initial Consultation
- Unlimited phone and email starting 45 days from the wedding day.
- Access to Swoon Soiree’s Planning Software starting eight (8) weeks from the wedding day
- Construct detailed timeline for wedding rehearsal and wedding day activities
- Wedding rehearsal coordination (up to one hour)
- Wedding day coordination from set up to break down (up to 8 hours)
- Photography provided by Don Mears Photography to include 8 hours of photography with Don Mears and full copyright to the finished images delivered by web galleries and a custom branded flash drive.
- Wedding cake provided by Melissa’s Simply Sweet. The cake will be a three-tier buttercream wedding cake custom made to the design of the Giveaway Winner couple’s choice and will feed 75-100 guests. The wedding cake will include fresh flowers to match the florals used at the wedding. The couple will be invited to a cake tasting and consultation at the bakery. They will be able to choose four cake flavors and two icing flavors from the website to create their perfect wedding cake.
- DJ Services provided by Rodney Steppe, DJ Rodney S, to include the following: ceremony and reception or only reception music including MCing and a basic lighting setup, wireless mic for the ceremony officiant, wireless mic for the reception, travel to and from the venue.
- Flowers and services provided by Hedge Fine Blooms include personal, ceremony and reception florals up to a maximum value of $3500.
- Transportation provided by Albemarle Limousine Company to include the following:
- Vintage limousine getaway vehicle from venue to City of Charlottesville drop off location. Based on availability at time of selection, couple can choose from our Pearl White 1940 Senior Packard Limousine, Silver 1946 Mark IV Jaguar, 1948 Midnight Blue Fleetwood Cadillac Limousine, and 1949 Jet Black Fleetwood Cadillac Limousine.
- 10 Passenger Sprinter Limousine for up to 3 hours of service to transport Bridal Party to and from a City of Charlottesville location and the venue. Should company be sold out of this style on the chosen wedding date, an attempt to offer an alternative will be made.

- Gifted RVA will provide custom designed gift boxes for the bride and groom to exchange on the day of their wedding. These gift boxes will include locally made items selected by the couple.
- Catering, alcohol, any additional third party vendors and items not specifically indicated above are not included and are the responsibility of Winner, if desired.
- Liability Release
By entering the contest or accepting wedding giveaway, the participant agrees that the released parties, the wedding giveaway vendors and Thatch Winery will not be held liable by any and every participant for any damages, injury, loss to person or property related directly or indirectly, to the acceptance, participation, possession, use or misuse of prize giveaway, anything that is contest related, or any other claim or cause of action the participant may have against the released party. All entrants and winners will assume all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed by participating in any and every aspect of the wedding giveaway. Winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and/or release. IN NO EVENT SHALL THATCH WINERY BE LIABLE IN ANY MANNER FOR THE FAILURE OF ANY SPONSOR OR VENDORS FAILURE TO PERFORM OR FOR ANY ACT OR OMISSION.
7.Taxes
Winners will be responsible for payment of any taxes related to winning contest. Sponsors/vendors will provide a 1099 to the winners for any prize valued over $600.00 however prizes worth less than $600 may still be subject to Federal or State Taxes.
8.Arbitration
All claims and disputes arising under or relating to this Agreement are to be settled by binding arbitration in the Commonwealth of Virginia or another location mutually agreeable to the parties. An award of arbitration may be confirmed in a court of competent jurisdiction.
